Under Louisiana law, if an employee is injured while at work, or contracts a disease related to his employment, the employer must compensate the worker for his injuries.  These claims are different from most personal injury cases, in that it is a no-fault system. The worker’s own negligence cannot be used to deny the claim. Under the law, the worker’s claim and sole remedy is against the employer for his work-related injuries.
